WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU MEET?

We met the morning of a Sunday Funday bike ride. Basically, Shawna ended up riding on the back of Chad’s bike to celebrate her birthday/ Mom’s death anniversary.

Shawna and her sister Melissa decided to celebrate their mom’s one year death anniversary/life with a motorcycle ride. Melissa already knew Chad through the motorcycle community and suggested that she ask him if he would mind taking Shawna with him because he never rides with anyone. Chad agreed and we met for the first time that morning.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FIRST DATE!

Our first date was to Krispy Kreme for ice cream. We rode the bike out, sat on a bench and talked for a while. It was a really nice time getting to know each other.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO TOGETHER?

Any moment we have to get away, we return to what brought us together. We love to get out on the motorcycle and ride. Near or far- living life, laughing and adventuring to see cool places. It could be a scenic destination with a cool view, a restaurant or just experiencing the feeling of the open road & wind with no real plan. Life is easy when you’re having fun with your best friend.

WHEN DID YOU KNOW HE/SHE WAS THE ONE?

Shawna- In his energy I feel seen, heard and understood. For me, the when is all the time and often. I know Chad is the One every moment I’m blessed to spend experiencing his love. Sometimes what is understood with the heart is hard to explain with simple words.

Chad- In all honesty, one might say that the moment I met her on that fateful Sunday morning outside of Sheetz was the moment I knew that she was the one I wanted to be with for the rest of my life. Since then, it is hard to pick a singular event in all the time we’ve spent together that could be my deciding factor in knowing. Sure, we have bigger moments in our relationship that make that love for her feel deeper and stronger…. But, to me, it was and is realizing a little more each and every day how much I love and adore this woman. She makes me feel so welcomed and appreciated in her life, my life, and just life in general.

HOW DID HE PROPOSE?

The proposal was intimate, vulnerable and beautifully ordinary. Chad asked me to be his wife at home, on a random day of the week. The experience melted my heart.

WHEN YOU THINK OF YOUR WEDDING DAY, WHAT DO YOU ENVISION? WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR YOU?

Shawna- I envision a room full of love, laughter and dancing. I see people smiling, I see new friendships being made, memories being created and a good time all around. I desire that Chad and I feel loved, supported and happy during one of the biggest experiences of our life together.

Chad- The most important thing is that my wife feels like the absolute princess that she is and that everyone in attendance has a great time celebrating the Cosgroves wedding!

WHY THE WILLOW?

The Willow is in an ideal location. The property is placed on a beautiful and spacious location. It meets all our needs. They take the guesswork out of all the hard parts of a venue. We attended a wedding there in the fall of 2024 and thought the place was really nice. Little did we know we would end up looking at it for ourselves so shortly after.
