Danielle & John

“As cliche as it is, we are each other’s absolute best friends. We are truly happy doing anything together.”
WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU MEET?
Although we are both originally from the Johnstown area, we actually met living in Pittsburgh when our mutual friends set us up on a “blind date” to watch fireworks downtown. We were both SO nervous.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR FIRST DATE!
Our first true date was at a Pirates game. The date was going so well that we didn’t want it to end, so we ended up going to two more places after, and the first date itself lasted 9 hours!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO TOGETHER?
As cliche as it is, we are each other’s absolute best friends. We are truly happy doing anything together. Whether it’s going to a brewery, a sporting event, spending time with our dogs, or even just a quick trip to the grocery store, we’re just glad it’s with one another.
WHEN DID YOU KNOW HE/SHE WAS THE ONE?
John: Danielle lights up any room she is in, and I knew early on that she was everything I have ever wanted in a partner. She is ambitious, caring, and strong.
Danielle: my dog Murphy is usually very timid around (new) men and has always preferred to be a “ladies” man. The second that Murphy met him, he was in love- and we always joke that it’s the moment I knew. But on a more serious note, John’s morals, compassion, and genuine personality left me certain right away that I found my match. I couldn’t picture myself with anyone else.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?
John planned a trip for us to see Bar Harbor, Maine together, somewhere that was on my bucket list. He proposed along the waters of Acadia National Park, hired a hidden photographer, and booked a boat ride for us to celebrate afterwards. The whole weekend was very intimate.
WHEN YOU THINK OF YOUR WEDDING DAY, WHAT DO YOU ENVISION? WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR YOU?
Since both of Danielle’s parents passed away at a younger age, we both knew that we wanted our wedding to be a memorable day surrounded by all of our loved ones- friends and family. We are so excited to spend the day with all of our favorite people in one place. It’s important to us to be able to share our love with those who make us whole!
WHY THE WILLOW?
We knew we wanted to get married near our hometowns instead of in Pittsburgh where we currently live. The Willow was the first place we toured, and it checked off every single box for us- it is beautiful, modern, and a place that matches our “vibe” well! Thank you to Morgan for being such a great help in this decision making.
